David R. Hendrick has engaged in counseling, advising and serving clients involved in the construction industry for over 30 years, focusing primarily on construction contracting and claim matters and dispute resolution and litigation matters involving public and private construction contracts. As a party representative, David has been involved in dozens of Alternative Dispute Resolution procedures, including before arbitration tribunals and in mediation procedures, from beginning to end. David is a member of the National Academy of Distinguished Neutrals - Georgia Chapter and the Georgia Academy of Arbitrators & Mediators, and serves as a member of the American Arbitration Association National Panel of Arbitrators for Large, Complex Cases. He served on the National Construction Dispute Resolution Council of the American Arbitration Association and as a member of the construction arbitration advisory board of the Atlanta Regional Office of the American Arbitration Association. He also has served as a neutral in various forms of Alternative Dispute Resolution processes arising out of the construction industry, including as an arbitrator, mediator, Dispute Review Board member and "project neutral." As an arbitrator he has been involved in more than four dozen large, complex construction disputes, many of which were single arbitrator cases and, as a mediator, in more than two dozen construction disputes.
He is a Fellow in and has served as President (1995-1996) of the American College of Construction Lawyers, an honorary elective society comprising lawyers throughout the United States and certain foreign countries distinguished for their skill, experience and accomplishments and their high standards of professional conduct in the practice of construction law. David is a member and has served as Chairman of the Construction Law Section of the Atlanta Bar Association and is a member of the Alternative Dispute Resolution Section of the Atlanta Bar Association. He has also served as Chairman of the Steering Committee of the American Bar Association Forum on the Construction Industry, Division 9 (Subcontractors, Suppliers and Material Fabricators) and as a member of the Steering Committee for Division 4 (Construction Management, Design Build & Related Concepts).
