F. Edwin Hallman, Jr. has practiced law for more than 40 years. His practice covers all aspects of litigation, permitting, regulatory compliance, including energy related issues, and environmental issues associated with real estate and business transactions. He represents domestic and international clients and manages legal issues related to environmentally impacted properties in numerous states around the country. His client base ranges from multi-billion dollar international corporations, oil refineries and distributors, to family-run businesses and dairy farms. Ed also manages complex business transactions, litigates corporate and individual claims, including contract issues. He has achieved unusual or unique accomplishments in his practice, including leading the way in many areas of environmental law and saving millions of dollars for corporate clients in Superfund and energy and RCRA liability settlements. Ed has participated in numerous landmark decisions that have clarified various environmental and energy statutes and regulations. In addition, Ed is AV® Preeminent™ Peer Review Rated¹ by Martindale-Hubbell Law Directory and has lectured often at law schools and at continuing legal education seminars.

• Lead attorney in the case of Hoffman v. Atlanta Gas Light Company, 206 Ga. App. 727, 426 S.E.2d 387 (1992), which clarified the concepts of trespass and continuing abatable nuisance and statutes of limitation associated with movement of contamination in soil and groundwater.
• Lead attorney in the case of Redwing Carriers, Inc. v. Saraland Apartments, 94 F.3d 1489 (11th Cir. 1996), which clarified the PRP divisibility defense for joint and several liability in federal Superfund cases.
• Lead attorney in the case of Boyce v. Augusta-Richmond County, Superior Court of Richmond County, Georgia, Case No. 2001-RCCV-111 (2003) (not reported), which is the first case to hold a municipality liable for spreading sewage sludge which contained hazardous wastes on farm lands.

• Lead attorney in the case of McElmurray, et al. v. United States Department of Agriculture, 535 F. Supp.2d 1318 (11th Cir. 2008), which resulted in the recovery of over $1.5 Million from the federal government for unlawfully withheld farm subsidies.
