Mediation FAQ’s – Part 2

Do your clients have a lot of questions about mediation? Well, we’ve got you covered. We are answering your client’s top questions about mediation. All you have to do is print these out or email them to your client to help them prepare for mediation.

Questions answered this week:

  • Where will the mediation be?
  • What about lunch?
  • Can I bring someone to the mediation?
  • Will it work?

1. Where will the mediation be?

Most mediations take place in an office building with lots of conference rooms. Our mediations take place here at BAY Mediation & Arbitration Services, LLC. Our address is 5775 Glenridge Drive, Building E Suite 100, Atlanta, GA 30328. If you are working with different mediators, your attorney will give you the address.

2. What about lunch?

How the food works vary depending on where you are mediating. It usually makes sense to have lunch at the mediation site, so everyone can keep working towards settlement. At BAY, we let each person order lunch and then we have it brought in. The price is included in the mediation. We also provide breakfast, snacks, and drinks throughout the day.

3. Can I bring someone to the mediation?

From a mediator’s standpoint, I welcome anyone who can help you make a decision on the day of mediation. However, it is very important to talk to your attorney before you ask anyone to come to the mediation with you. Usually, your attorney will be comfortable with letting you bring your spouse, but your attorney needs to make that decision.

4. Will it work?

There are no guarantees. The good news, though, is that about 70% of cases do settle at mediation.
